Aargau/Solothurn Regional Office supports the integration of socially disadvantaged people into society and helps refugees and migrants to seize their rights and obligations.
The projects and propositions of the Aargau/Solothurn Regional Office are geared to the needs of different groups of people, which are in danger of social exclusion.

We comprehend ourselves as a practice oriented counselling and service agency that stands up for the socially disadvantaged of our society in a highly professional manner. Thanks to the cooperation with other aid agencies, authorities and private institutions we are able to help the persons concerned to build up a social life and a social network again. This we manage by carefully directed actions in social and cultural field. For us it is also central to foster social cohesion between immigrants and the Swiss nationals.

With legal and personal advice we ensure that asylum seekers get fair proceedings. Thus they are better able to comprehend their situation and they can appraise their perspectives and options more realistically. The language barrier is often the biggest obstacle on the way to become a part of society. That is why we offer various language courses. With our intercultural interpreter service «HEKS Linguadukt Aargau» we ensure the migrants an easier access to institutions in the health, social and education sector.

Apart from these offers in education we make practical contributions for everyday life, which should enhance the integration of people living on the margins of society. With the offer «HEKS Wohnen Aargau» we focus on persons with psychic problems or an addiction. We place apartments at their disposal and accompany them in their everyday life until their situation is stabilized.
 
Finally, we also continue to address current issues, often on behalf of the protestant church Aargau. We approach the public with various events in order to raise awareness for the situation of marginalised people.
