Foreign children and youths learn a foreign language far more easily when they are mastering their mother tongue well. The same applies for integration: the earlier migrants are well acquainted with their own culture, the better they are able to integrate into a new environment. Based upon this the Basel school, integration and parent education project «Anadili ve Kültür-Egitim Programi» (AKEP) supports Turkish refugee families. Its focus lies on the learning of the language and getting to know the culture.
