Liaison Office for People Subject to Enforcement Action
Both Cantons of Basel
The liaison office helps people who are detained in custody in Basel on warrant of deportation. It offers qualified information and, if necessary, it will provide legal advice or arrange legal representation. Since the state authorities are insisting that these people return to their native country, they are anticipating a lengthy period of detention.
The liaison office seeks to facilitate their everyday life in custody by adopting a policy of transparency with regard to information. The project also aims to improve the mutual understanding between the detainees and the enforcement agencies.
