In Africa, HEKS/EPER improves food security in those countries, among other ways, through climate change adaptation measures, promotes peaceful coexistence especially in resource-poor areas and provides humanitarian aid situations of severe crisis.

In Asia, HEKS/EPER supports smallholder families and disadvantaged minorities in improving their livelihoods, and also provides humanitarian aid.

HEKS/EPER is active in eleven European countries. For decades HEKS/EPER has cultivated close ties with the Reformed Churches in Eastern Europe and Italy and supported them in fostering social inclusion for disadvantaged people.

HEKS/EPER is improving the livelihoods of rural communities in Brazil, Haiti, Honduras and Colombia and helping to shape a more just and peaceful society.

The Annual ID Report 2020 reports on the activities, impact and perspectives of the HEKS/EPER International Division’s projects and programmes of its three sections: development cooperation (DevCo), humanitarian aid (HA) and church cooperation (CC).

HEKS/EPER works towards a more humane and more equitable world, assisting people and communities to overcome economic, social or humanitarian disparities in order to gain autonomy and to live with dignity.
